The Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite is the company's second smartwatch under the Redmi brand. It succeeds the Redmi Watch that was launched in the country last year. The smartwatch is actually ‘Lite’ in weight which makes it easy and comfortable to wear throughout the day.

Silicone straps on the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite can feel sticky and sweaty after using it for longer periods. The smartwatch has a 41.2mm X 35.3mm frame and it is 10.7mm thick which gives it a sleek look.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite sports only one button that is placed at the right hand side. The button can be used to access the menu or to just simply wake up the display. At the back, the smartwatch features optical sensors that are used to monitor heart rate, stress and others. The backside of the device also has two metal contact pins that are used for charging.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite supports changeable bands. The company claims that the blue and black straps are antibacterial too.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite smartwatch features a 1.55-inch square and thin-film transistor (TFT) touchscreen display. The display is just the right size and does not compromise on the accessibility front. The colours on the display are decent and the information is easy to read. The crisp output draws your attention away from the thick bezels.

The square shape of the watch helps it to display more information in a proportionate way. The display is quite responsive but one can notice a few jerky movements. It offers various brightness modes and with the peak brightness it is bright enough that we were able to view the information and access the features under harsh sunlight.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite gets the same user interface (UI) as the Redmi Watch. The UI is quite simple and easy to use. When you swipe down, you can see the notifications that you have received on the paired smartphone. When you swipe up, you can access options such as settings, display, alarm and others. When you swipe left or right, you view your heart rate, blood-oxygen level, weather and more.

The device comes pre-loaded with over 100 workout modes and 17 professional modes including HIIT and Yoga. When it comes to activity tracking, the stats provided by the smartwatch are slightly off the mark at times. The step counter usually displays the number on a higher side while the heart rate and SpO2 accuracy is correct.

To see in-depth tracking details and manage various settings on the smartwatch, you can pair it with the Mi Fitness app that is available to download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, the smartwatch functions better when paired with an Android smartphone. The app UI is also quite informative and easily accessible.

When it comes to battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite does not fail to impress. The company claims that the smartwatch can last up to 10 days on a single charge. In our review, we found the claim to be true to a great extent. The device can be charged with a two-pin magnetic charging cradle.
